Here’s What We’re Looking For
We are looking for a Financial Controller to join our growing team and play a key role at the heart of the company’s financial operations. This person will be a true pillar in ensuring the accuracy of financial statements, the efficiency of accounting processes, and the strength of internal controls.
A hands-on and inspiring leader, the Financial Controller will oversee financial close processes, tax compliance, external audits, and payroll, while working closely with the finance and operations teams. This role offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact on the company’s growth by actively contributing to the optimization of financial tools, processes, and practices.
Your Day-to-Day
- Oversee accounting operations, including general accounting, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations;
- Lead monthly and annual close processes, including the preparation of financial statements and management reports;
- Ensure tax compliance and oversee government remittances (GST/QST, payroll remittances, CNESST, T4/RL-1);
- Coordinate external audits and act as the main point of contact for auditors;
- Manage cash flow and monitor liquidity and financial forecasts;
- Participate in the budgeting process and financial analyses alongside the VP of Finance;
- Implement and improve internal controls, accounting processes, and financial tools;
- Mentor and develop the accounting team;
- Contribute to the automation and optimization of financial systems and ERP platforms;
- Participate in various strategic projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
- CPA designation required;
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in accounting, including management experience;
- Strong experience with financial close processes, external audits, and Canadian tax compliance;
- Good knowledge of IFRS or ASPE standards, as well as internal controls;
- Experience with ERP systems such as Business Central, NetSuite, or equivalent;
- Knowledge of payroll platforms such as Nethris, ADP, or equivalent;
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills with strong attention to detail;
- Leadership, autonomy, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
