Here's what we're looking for

We are in search of a highly motivated IT Technician to become a key member of our IT support team, providing vital technical support across our organisation. The ideal candidate will have a robust passion for technology, an unending desire to expand their knowledge.

Responsibilities include resolving initial help desk inquiries related to both Mac and Windows operating systems, overseeing the installation and configuration of software, aiding in the seamless onboarding of new personnel, and maintaining our comprehensive IT inventory. This position is suited to dynamic individuals with a solid foundational understanding of IT principles, who are committed to upholding the highest standards of customer service excellence.

Your daily responsibilities

  • Configure new Mac and Windows computers for incoming employees, which includes setting up the operating system, network, and creating user accounts.
  • Install and tailor software applications to meet the specific requirements of different roles within the organisation.
  • Promptly manage and resolve IT support tickets via the organisation's ticketing system, ensuring issues are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Assess tickets for urgency and significance, escalating more complex problems to senior IT personnel as necessary.
  • Keep a detailed and current inventory of all IT assets, encompassing hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
  • Conduct periodic audits to ensure the accuracy of the inventory and to identify any discrepancies.
  • Evaluate the requirements for IT materials and equipment, placing orders to replenish stocks or acquire new assets as needed.
  • Coordinate with vendors to secure prompt and accurate delivery of orders.
  • Guarantee that meeting rooms are outfitted with the required IT and AV equipment for presentations and meetings.
  • Regularly inspect and maintain these technologies to ensure they are functional and ready for use.

Your skills and experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required;
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking principles.
  • Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows and macOS.
  • Knowledge of security concepts, networks and troubleshooting tools for common IT issues;
  • Significant experience in the installation, configuration and maintenance of desktop computers, laptops, and audio-video equipment in meeting rooms;
  • Proficiency in commonly used office software applications, including the Microsoft Office Suite and various email platforms;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Highly organized, self-driven, and proactive;
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, informal work environment;
  • Rigorous in managing IT inventories to ensure accuracy and efficiency;
  • Strong customer-oriented skills, strives in providing excellent customer service and meet their needs in a timely manner and achieving high levels of satisfaction.
